Joanne Beehler
President
Joanne Beehler has been an active real estate investor since January 2002. She is the co-owner of Spirepoint Properties where she specializes in multi-family investment properties. She has coordinated and performed extensive rehab projects and flips, and brings to the table her experience in executing and managing real estate joint venture partnerships, as well as completing RRSP 2nd mortgages.
Her real estate journey began in 2001 when she attended a hands-on course and became a Canadian Certified Property Consultant in June 2002. She has been a member of the Ottawa Real Estate Investors Organization (OREIO) since 2003 as well as a member of the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN) from 2004 until early 2008.
Her talents have also been recognized nationally. In December 2004, she was featured as a successful real estate investor by the Globe and Mail. She also shared the stage with Ken McElroy, author of ABC’s of Real Estate Investing and Rich Dad advisor, at a national recorded event. Her talk is now sold as a module of an all-Canadian Real Estate Investment course.
In March 2006, Joanne was nominated for the prestigious Forty under 40 award in Ottawa. She was elected in April 2006 as the President of the Ottawa Real Estate Investors Organization. Over a two year period, she led a 10 member executive team and grew the organization from 95 to almost 200 active members.
Joanne lives in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, where she can be found running her running dog every day of the week.
Paul Blacquière
Vice President
Paul Blacquière started his real estate investing education in his early 20s and has been an active investor since 2002. He has extensive experience with managing multi-family investment properties, major renovation projects, flips, joint venture investments, and private RRSP mortgage financing.
In 2004, he co-founded Spirepoint Properties, a real estate investment and educational company dedicated to making real estate investments easy for investors. Every month, he publishes the Spirepoint Insider newsletter with educational articles, investment opportunities, and recommended resources for real estate investors. In 2009, he created the Millionaire Investors Club, the only Canadian club dedicated to making each of its members a millionaire through real estate investing.
His professional career in the high technology field spans a 12 year period and includes experience in electronics engineering, computer software programming, technical writing, publishing, website design, and product development. In August 2006, he left his full-time career to pursue his dream of real estate investing and helping others achieve the same.
In 1991, he began his real estate education by reading many books on real estate investing. The turning point for converting theory into action occurred when he joined a hands-on real estate investing course in September 2001. Before graduating from the course, he had already purchased his first investment property with a joint venture partner. In June 2002, he graduated as a Canadian Certified Canadian Property Consultant.
In April 2008, he was elected as President of the Ottawa Real Estate Investors Organization (OREIO), where he has been an active member since the group was founded in 2002. He was also a member of the Ontario Real Estate Investment Network (REIN) since its inception in 2004 until early 2007.
Paul and his wife Rofida live in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where they frequent many local coffee shops with family and friends.
